The Turnaround Jazz Quartet (with saxophonist) performed at our wedding, and we couldn’t have been happier with their positive attitude, flexibility and sheer talent. They let us make requests from their large repertoire, saved certain songs for our special dance, and offered to have other songs ready by request. They even moved all of their setup from outside to inside when the weather got tough. Alexey and crew are total professionals, and I would recommend them to anyone looking to class up their event.

What a team… I can’t thank Alexey enough for his amazing services during our wedding ceremony. I honestly did not know how to approach selecting a music vendor and felt pulled in a million different ways. Alexey was one of the few vendors that really helped us understand what was important, what WE were looking for (instead of what they can do – and trust me they are the best) and clearly communicate what we could expect. Ultimately the reason I decided to go with Alexey is that we could (based on just what was posted online and our discussions) trust his style and deliver the music we wanted at our wedding. Alexey is very professional, SUPER talented, responsive, easy to work with and polite. We received numerous compliments from our guests of how wonderful they were and not to mention very picturesque! My fiancee gave me one job, figure out the music and I’m SO glad I decided to go with The Turnaround Jazz Trio & Quartet because my now wife was extremely impressed and most importantly happy! Alexey and the Turnaround Trio were great in the charity wine tasting we hosted last week. Alexey was really communicative and clear with the organizational details. I didn’t want to think about the music at all and so I left all creative license to him and the band and they played perfectly and set the mood well. We kept getting comments about how great the band was. The price was reasonable as well. I would definitely recommend and definitely hire for future events.

I am so happy that I hired Alexey and The Turnaround Jazz Band for my wedding – they knocked it out of the park!
The Band played during my ceremony, cocktail hour and through dinner – they have such a wide selection of songs and are such talented musicians. They really created a lively and fun atmosphere. We had several musicians at our wedding and they were also blown away. My favorite comment was, ” did you hold auditions for your band? These guys are incredible.”
In addition to their talent, Alexey made it very easy to work with. He was very responsive and accommodating. I had a lot of little small requests, like specific songs at certain times and it was such a delight to hear every single song just as I requested. When planning a wedding, it’s such a relief to trust your vendor and I had 100% confidence that Alexey would deliver. I would absolutely hire this band again and would recommend them to anyone looking for a Jazz Band.

I have been so remiss in not putting this review out before now. My apologies. We hired Alexey and the guys for my sons Bar Mitzvah and it was beyond fabulous. Our guests enjoyed the band and our highlight was having Connor play Watermelon Man with the band as a surprise number for our guests. It all went off swimmingly. I would highly recommend this band for your event.

The Turnaround Jazz Trio & Quartet is as good as it gets! This was my second time hiring Alexey and his musicians. His team delivers only pure professionalism with attention to detail that results in musical excellence. The only negative is that he lives in San Francisco and not Phoenix or I would keep him very very busy!

We had Alexey and his band play at our wedding at the Oceano in Half Moon Bay as a trio for the cocktail hour and reception, and with one of his band members playing as a solo pianist for our ceremony.
The music was wonderful, and they were great with responding to our requests and giving feedback/guidance on song selections all along the way where needed. Clear communication throughout the entire process, which really helped out because we are living overseas and had to do everything remotely. Music itself was wonderful and spot on with what we were hoping for. They even pulled through with a new arrangement for us that was not already on their extensive song list that only helped make the day even more memorable. They flexibly arranged their schedules/breaks to make sure music was playing at all the right times, and ably handled some MC duties for us. Would love to have them again if the occasion ever presented itself, highly recommended!

My husband and I hired The Turnaround Jazz Ensemble for our wedding earlier this month (August 2014). There are few things that can single-handedly transform the atmosphere of entire event, and music is one of them. Alexei and his fellow band members gave the evening a tangible ambiance of class and elegance that couldn’t have been beaten. They are brilliant. And not only did we love the experience: we continue to receive innumerable compliments on the music from our guests. The band was hands-down fantastic, and it was an absolute pleasure to have them.
There are two reasons why you should hire these guys. The first is that they are really, really good. I can say this with some authority, as I come from a family of musicians myself. Each band member is an accomplished player, and the blend of instruments and personalities is just right. You can tell that they’re having a great time while they’re playing, and it’s infectious! One of my concerns was that the younger crowd would be hesitant to dance to jazz (let’s be honest, not many of us know how to dance anymore!). This was not a problem in the slightest. The band was also excellent in modulating volume and mood throughout the evening. There wasn’t a single moment when you got that “ok let’s sit down, this is boring” feeling, nor a moment when you felt that the music was too loud for casual conversation.
The second reason why you should hire the Turnarounds is that they are extremely professional. Alexei responded to my inquiry within hours of my sending it, and really guided me through the process of structuring the music to the event (and vice versa). He also suggested several different options (band composition, how long they play etc.), all of which were reasonably priced and thoughtful. We ended up having a trio for the cocktail hour (amazingly classy), a quartet for more low-key sound through dinner/speeches, and then a quintet to play a mix of Latin jazz and regular jazz for the rest of the evening.) They were perfectly punctual on the evening, flexible with the program of events, and very accommodating of my last-minute (day before the wedding) requests.
Overall, I can’t recommend the Turnaround Jazz Ensemble enough. If we were having another wedding, hiring them would be the first item on our TODO list.
